I wrote Drug Winters as a work of fiction, although I formed its bones from the true traumatic events of my younger, 'wild child' years. The cast of characters grew themselves, picking bits and pieces — attributes — from the parade of people I allowed into the playground of my heart.
Set in the Midwest during the late 70's, Drug Winters follows my own footsteps into addiction, adultery, the tightening noose of Mafia involvement, and the world of angry men, which creates even angrier women.
Drug Winters offers a deeply introspective look into the drug culture of my generation, and a peek inside the quirky world of the Midwestern bar and restaurant scene of those times.
